Today I sat down to write my blog as I do every day and to my tremendous frustration, I was faced with what’s termed as “writers block.” A blank sheet of paper sits in front of me on the desk, my pen is in my hand, but my brain is blank. I could have turned to my list of article ideas that I’ve for occasions just such as this, but I didn’t. Rather there was a nagging idea in my head about an article I had written a couple days prior, that I just kept feeling the need to expound on. I had written a great article and in truth it was one of my more enjoyable articles to write but there was just some thing missing. So I decided to write it once more.

The article I wrote was about Being Consistent. Consistent behaviors become habits that, carried out through time, will take you in the direction you want to go in your life. But there’s more to it than that, really isn’t there? That’s when Personal Integrity popped came to mind. But what does Integrity have to do with being consistent?

What does Personal Integrity really mean? I was listening to a self-improvement audio within the car and a man whom I had by no means heard of prior to but whom I’ll by no means forget, came on the air. His name was Rory Vaden and he’s the author of a book known as “Take the Stairs!” He said that the definition of Integrity will be the congruence of one’s words and actions. As I sat listening towards the tape in my automobile that statement hit me like a ton of bricks.

Personal Integrity is defined as: An individual whose thoughts, words and actions are congruent, and consequently don’t conflict with each other.

How perfectly summed up! When we think of personal integrity words like honesty, dependability, honorability, principle, and righteousness come to mind. And frequently we believe of other people and how we prove ourselves to have integrity to them. Things like, when you make a promise to a buddy you keep it. And how you are able to be trusted to do what you say you are going to do. But what concerning the promises which you make to your self?? How often do you keep them?? How dependable are you currently to your self whenever you say you’re going to devote time to a project and months later you nonetheless haven’t touched it. I think that integrity is not just that others can rely on you; it’s also that you could rely on yourself!! How many occasions have you established a promise to yourself which you never kept? All those promises that this would be the year which you would get healthy and be steadfast in working out. How many years have you produced that promise to your self. Or the promise which you would get your priorities straight, stop spending so a lot time at function and start spending much more occasions together with your kids.

Somehow the promises that we make to ourselves are all too effortlessly forgotten. Does that sound like personal integrity to you?? Does that sound like congruence with your thoughts, actions and words?? Or are you currently not near as reliable to your self as you would hope to be to other people! Do you take the promises you make to yourself seriously or do they just fall by the wayside??

So many of us have reached the point, that a promise produced to ourselves is just merely a faint wish that we might never think about once more. Therefore the years go by and before you realize it your life starts to look nothing like you had planned. Why?? Because of all those promises you made to yourself that you would go back to school, get a much better job, take that holiday that your usually dreamed of, get into shape, live healthier, that you by no means kept!

Time flies when you’re getting fun! Well truth be told it flies by whether you’re having enjoyable or not and each and every day which you procrastinate, make excuses or take the simple route rather than performing what’s correct will add as much as what becomes your life. Do you want your life to become broken promises and excuses or do you finally wish to have personal integrity and be dependable to your self?

So what does Personal Integrity need to do with Being Consistent? In so many ways they are actually exactly the same factor. Because with out being consistent with yourself and regularly following via with what you say you are going to do you cannot have personal integrity. Integrity is about consistently performing what is correct whether it is easy or not.

It is taken me a number of days and a lot of exasperated sighs to write this article, but I finally really feel that I’ve done the subject some justice. Having personal integrity and being consistent is about changing your life for the much better! And finally becoming every thing that you’ve usually dreamed of being! So be sure you have it!

Empowering you to live your dreams!
